The Comforts of Home
The Aroostook House of Comfort was designed with both patients and families in mind. This state-of-the-art facility provides an atmosphere of peace, comfort, and tranquility in a home-like setting. Amenities include a private patient suite, access to a living room and sitting areas, fully equipped kitchen, children’s playroom, laundry room, conference room, chapel and meditation room, gardens and a large gazebo, as well as several outdoor seating areas.
Private Patients Suites
We are grateful for the Comfort Food Memorial Fund established by the family of Dr. William F. Bergen. This allows us to provide nourishment to patient’s families and caregivers. Volunteers and staff may assist with meal preparation for patients and family members. Snacks and beverages are available in the dining room self-service area. Visitors are also permitted to bring food to keep in patient suites.
Visitor Information
We appreciate the vital role family and friends play in the care and comfort of our patients. We ask that everyone sign in at the front desk and an adult must accompany children under the age of 12. There are no limits to the number of visitors allowed in the building at a time per patient. Overnight visitors are limited to one in certain circumstances as approved by the Medical Director and Manager. All guests should self-monitor symptoms. They should not be ill with colds, flu, sore throat, cough, or any contagious condition and must follow infection control policies. If a patient prefers to limit company, please let the nursing staff or house volunteer know. They can help manage visitor flow. Visiting hours and regulations are subject to change along with current CDC and facility guidelines.
The Aroostook House of Comfort wants to ensure that our patients, volunteers, staff, and community are safe from Covid-19. We are following the guidelines issued by the CDC to help minimize any potential health risks. The visitation policy is subject to change at the discretion of the administration for staff and patient safety based on disease transmission rates and risk for illness. We have implemented a visitor screening process with the following policies below.

TESTIMONIALS
What People Say About Us
“From the moment the Aroostook House of Comfort hospice team got involved, we felt such a load lifted from our shoulders. So many people were involved in so many helpful ways. Her medications, personal care, pain control. All the things that we could not adequately do anymore. She now had qualified, competent, caring, and gifted people to care for her. We are still so moved and touched by the kindness and compassion of everyone involved.”

“My father lived at the Aroostook House of Comfort for 13 days before he passed. Dad and the family were welcomed on arrival. Dr. Jones was there to greet Dad and meet with the family. My father was treated every day with kindness and compassion. Our family felt welcome, and we were there daily. This is the most wonderful place, and we are so blessed to have it in our area.”
