A Family's Story

"The Aroostook House of Comfort gave our family a place of comfort and support during the most difficult time of our lives. Garry battled colon cancer for three years at home before needing extra care. The House of Comfort was suggested to us by one of Garry's doctors. I had never been to House of Comfort, but friends and family who had visited had very positive experiences. The morning we walked through the front door, we felt a sense of ease. The Aroostook House of Comfort offered us a warm and loving atmosphere. The staff and volunteers not only cared for all of Garry's needs with tenderness, compassion, and respect, but also for the family. They would come with a smile, coffee, and fresh-baked cookies or a hug if needed. We appreciated the staff's presence during Garry's final hours. Our family was blessed with the House of Comfort.
