Where Hospice and Heart Come Together

{{brizy_dc_image_alt entityId=

As we enter this season of reflection and gratitude, we are honored to launch our very first Giving Campaign. Your donations touch every part of our work: funding Charity Care for families in financial need, maintaining our safe and welcoming space, and offering personalized support that makes the hospice journey a little lighter. Every gift, no matter the size, sustains our mission, allowing us to provide comfort, dignity, and care for patients and their families when it matters most.

A Vital Role in Our Region

The Aroostook House of Comfort is the only inpatient hospice home serving Northern Maine, providing compassionate care for our neighbors, friends, colleagues, family members, and loved ones right here in Aroostook County. As one of just four inpatient hospice facilities in the entire state, we hold a vital role in our region. Your generosity sustains this mission, allowing us to provide comfort, dignity, and care for patients and their families when it matters most.

How Your Donations Make a Difference

Your donations touch every part of our work:

  • Funding our Charity Care program for families in financial need
  • Keeping our home and grounds a safe and welcoming space
  • Offering patients and their caregivers the personalized support and resources that make the hospice journey a little lighter

Because of you, the Aroostook House of Comfort is not just a building, but a place of healing, hope, and community. Every gift makes a meaningful difference. Together, we ensure that compassionate care remains available when it matters most.

A Family's Story

"The Aroostook House of Comfort gave our family a place of comfort and support during the most difficult time of our lives. Garry battled colon cancer for three years at home before needing extra care. The House of Comfort was suggested to us by one of Garry's doctors. I had never been to House of Comfort, but friends and family who had visited had very positive experiences. The morning we walked through the front door, we felt a sense of ease. The Aroostook House of Comfort offered us a warm and loving atmosphere. The staff and volunteers not only cared for all of Garry's needs with tenderness, compassion, and respect, but also for the family. They would come with a smile, coffee, and fresh-baked cookies or a hug if needed. We appreciated the staff's presence during Garry's final hours. Our family was blessed with the House of Comfort. Our community is blessed to have such a beautiful facility that offers us help in times of need." - Debbie Nelson

Gratitude for Our Community

We are deeply grateful to everyone who makes this mission possible, including our generous donors, Northern Light Home Care and Hospice staff, volunteers, board members, and the community. Special thanks to the Nelson family for sharing their story, reflecting the actual impact of the care provided within our walls and serving as a reminder of why this work matters so deeply.
