Community Walks Together, Raises $68K for Hospice

It is with immense pride and gratitude that we share the remarkable success of the 3rd Annual Walk for Hospice, which raised $68,000 in support of the Aroostook House of Comfort.

On Saturday, September 13, hundreds gathered at the Caribou High School Track & Trails for a beautiful day of reflection, hope, and healing. This achievement reflects more than generosity—it shows how our community takes ownership of the Aroostook House of Comfort and stands united in the shared belief that every Aroostook County neighbor deserves compassion, dignity, and comfort at the end of life.

A Community Celebration of Hope and Healing

The 2025 Walk brought together 364 participants across 24 teams, all walking to raise funds, promote awareness, and celebrate the lives of those touched by hospice care. The event proudly featured Greenlaw Electric, LLC as the Event Sponsor and the Family of Dr. David Jones as the Memorial Dedication Sponsor, with generous support from the Matching Donor, Pineland Farms.

In total, 90 sponsors supported the event: 20 Trail Sponsors, 22 Community Sponsors, 38 Friend Sponsors, and 10 In-Kind Sponsors. Their commitment, alongside the dedication of volunteers, participants, and teams, made this meaningful day possible.

Congratulations to our outstanding fundraisers - Top Individual Fundraiser Denise Kingsbury, who raised $2,011, and Top Team Fundraiser Team Remembering Pat, who raised $3,666. Special recognition goes to Angel Kearly, winner of the Blackstone Griddle Bundle, who generously donated her prize to the Presque Isle Fire Department in loving memory of her husband, Mark Kearly.

Your support sustains every part of Aroostook House of Comfort's mission - from plowing the driveway in winter to providing anniversary dinners and gas cards for families to ensuring Charity Care for those in need. This is where hospice and heart come together.

We are deeply thankful to each and every participant, team, sponsor, donor, volunteer, board member, and staff member whose dedication made this event a meaningful success.

Mark your calendars! The 4th Annual Walk for Hospice will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026. We look forward to seeing you there as we continue to support compassionate end-of-life care for our community.
