Families Unite for Remembrance Way Dedication

On Saturday, August 23, family and friends gathered at the Aroostook House of Comfort for our annual Remembrance Way dedication ceremony. It was a beautiful morning filled with love, remembrance, and community as we honored those who have touched our lives.

Honoring Lives and Legacies

This year, we welcomed 25 new personalized etched stones to our memorial pathway, along with two mini gardens and three benches. Each stone, garden, and bench represents a life beautifully lived and deeply loved. Situated between the gazebo and the hospice house, Remembrance Way is a peaceful haven for comfort and reflection, where families can return to remember their loved ones in a place that provided compassionate care.

The ceremony began with a warm welcome and opening prayer by Pastor George McLaughlin, followed by heartfelt music from Bonnee McLaughlin and Nicole Plourde, who performed "Goodness of God" and "It Is Well." Sue Yerxa offered words of reflection that resonated with many in attendance, reminding us of the lasting impact our loved ones have on our lives.

As Pastor George McLaughlin read each name aloud during the dedication, we paused for a moment of silence to honor all those we remembered. The ceremony was a touching tribute to the lives celebrated and a reminder of the comfort this special place provides to families during life's most difficult moments.

Memorializing Your Loved One

Each memorial in Remembrance Way tells a story of love and remembrance. These tributes create a lasting connection to the Aroostook House of Comfort while helping sustain the mission of compassionate hospice care for our community.

We are deeply grateful to all the families who chose to honor their loved ones through Remembrance Way. Thank you to everyone who attended the ceremony and to those who helped make this day so meaningful. Special thanks to Bonnee McLaughlin, Nicole Plourde, Pastor George McLaughlin, Sue Yerxa, and Rick Duncan for their contributions to the ceremony.

The next Remembrance Way dedication ceremony will take place in late August 2026. Memorial stones are available for purchase until June 1, 2026. If you would like to honor a loved one with a personalized stone, we invite you to consider this meaningful tribute.
